Welcome to the 13th instalment of Meet The Peoplewave Team Monday, #MTPTM! This week, we’re pleased to introduce Arthur Yap, our Front-end Developer. Let’s explore more about Arthur as he shares with us his background in software development, his what it’s like to be working at Peoplewave and more.
1. Could you share with us about your journey in software development? How did you end up in this role?
2. What are your biggest challenges at work as a Front-end Developer?
Mostly the biggest challenge for a frontend developer is to make the final software product as close as to what the UX designer made it… and making it as responsive as possible while not breaking the approved design. Making it cross platform as well, while making the user experiences intuitive.
3. While working at Peoplewave what is the project are you most proud of doing?
At Peoplewave I mostly help our lead frontend developer adding some new pages with respect to the great design works. It makes me feel proud seeing my rendered work being pushed to testing phase and being approved to make it into production for the users to interact with.
4. What does your typical day at work look like?
Typically when I get on board to work, I check emails for some tasks, as well as checking Trello. I use Trello to keep track of comments on my previous tasks, seeing if there are more revisions and or add ons to it. Later I get online and into Slack, using it to communicate with my colleagues to collaborate on this week’s development Sprint.
5. What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
When I was like 50kgs lighter, I could bend forward until 2 of my ankles are on the back of my neck. I could also flex out my shoulder blades, just like Bruce Lee!
